LADAKH – Nubra Valley via Lasermo La – Camping Trek

On this demanding tour you leave the Nubra Valley towards the west and cross the 5,400 m high Lasermo La (pass).
The tour leads through impressive gorges, through mountain deserts, barley growing areas and meadows with colorful flowers that accompany the way to the picturesque monastery in the village of Phyang. In the Nubra Valley you will experience authentic Tibetan culture with well-preserved monasteries such as Diskit and Samstaling and admire their special re-gional architecture.

This is a relatively new hiking trail in a less visited region of Ladakh. Nubra, also called the ‘Valley of Flowers’ in the local language, lies like an oasis in the middle of the mountain desert and was part of the trade route between Tibet and Turkestan. The Nubra Valley is located about 150 km northeast of the city of Leh and is formed from the valley of the Shyok River and the valley of the Nubra, fed by the huge Siachen Glacier in the Karakoram, which flows into the Shyok at Diskit. Other special features of the region are the two-humped Bactrian camel, as well as the numerous sand dunes, which give you the feeling of roaming the Central Asian Gobi desert.

This trekking tour requires good mountain hiking experience, altitude tolerance and good health.
